Arts Council Grant

This entry is about my on-going project (be)longing which looks at themes of race, heritage, transracial adoption and estrangement. Click here to read all of the posts on this topic.

After a second gruelling 12 week wait after an application re-submission I’m so excited that my (be)longing project is now funded by Arts Council England.

A generous grant of £49k will support me to work with partners Bethlem Gallery and Queercircle to:

  • Produce a solo show at @bethlemgallery (spring 2026) exploring my personal relationship to belonging through the lens of queer, disabled and mixed heritage identities.

  • Deliver a programme of creative workshops, events & a symposium for both Bethlem Gallery and Queercircle exploring migration, queerness, adoption, heritage, family estrangement & more.

  • Commission 2 x early career artists exploring belonging in their practice with one off grants of £2500 each, whose work will be shown alongside mine in the exhibition.

  • All with psychological support as part of my commitment to making sure that artists like me with wonky brains are cared for when making personal & sensitive works.
