Growing a Relationship

In May I was invited to facilitate a session as a part of Barbican Centre’s event “Growing a Relationship,” a day of creative workshops and roundtable discussion on relationship centred practice for arts and community organisations and workers.

In my session we focused on the idea of ‘tension’ - quite literally - in a series of physical activities that explored the tensions in community work through materiality. We stretched, we knotted, we reinforced, all whilst discussing our ideas of elasticity, capacity, boundaries and pacing in community arts practice.

The session took place within the Barbican’s dreamy conservatory.
